Outback on Canvas
This project is currently on going and was first planned in September 2004. It consists of three major flat canvas works, installed in a purpose built building which is going to join onto the existing gallery and Wilpena Panorama complex.
The new building in Hawker to house the "Outback on Canvas by Jeff Morgan"
The largest of these paintings will be approximately 5 metres by 15 metres . and will be housed in its own structure 15 metres x 9 metres. It will feature a natural landscaped foreground and include large boulders , cast replicas of local reptiles , indigenous shrubs and bushes ,thus in effect creating a diorama.
Demolition work in preparation
The three paintings will depict different outback scenes and include a colourful sunset scene of the Central Australian Cooper Creek. The Canvases were organised after talking to Professor Song Huimin , Of the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts , November 2004 while we were in New York City for the 12th International Panorama Conference. The new canvases were made in a factory in Tiajin City China.
